| "ORGANIZED CHAOS" There's lots of noise. There are hundreds of conversations taking place simultaneously. Some are person to person others are on cell phones. There is laughter and screaming as conversations erupt with emotion as teenagers share information about those around them, their girlfriends and boyfriends. "Thump, thump, thump, thump, pound, pound, pound, pound" goes the rapid succession of footsteps up and down the metal steps on the bleachers. It is so loud that it drowns out the lesser sounds around it. "Two bits, four bits, six bits a dollar, all for Princeton stand up and holler," and they do...the crowd that is. Some of the crowd, that is, hollers in response to the beckoning cheerleaders. The band begins warming up and a scale is heard as they pump air into the brass and woodwind instruments. Students are milling around the fence that separates them from the main action on the field. Food stands are making and selling snow cones , soft drinks and candy bars. This cacophony of voices and chaos of sounds suddenly stops as all at once the crowd becomes one as they cheer and clap as their team crosses the goal line with the football. It soon becomes a roar!! Now all the voices are one and it is a stronger and clearer voice then before!! Now, everyone knows that something great has happened and all pause to see it. Out of the chaos comes order. When God created the heavens and the earth, he took the chaotic void and made it into something beautiful and purposeful. Out of chaos comes order. The church is the body of Christ. It is made up of people from every walk of life. Our interests are diverse as are our gifts and experiences. We are different colors, different dialects, and different genders. We may appear to have nothing in common and yet, when it comes to God we are one voice. God is our main event and together we "cheer" every time God crosses the "goal line" with his love and compassion for others. Our diversity is our strength and love is our roar. We seek to bring order to the chaos of the world around us. Today, if your life seems full of chaos take heart knowing that out of chaos God always brings order. Sharing in Faith,
Rev. Craig W. Duke
